On the eve of the United States Supreme Court considering the Fourteenth Amendment and Birthright citizenship that defines who an American is, I offer the following.
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” Fourteenth Amendment, Section 1

they are not hiding in the dark corners of america
they want to be seen heard
attentively religiously and
if you don’t there will be a price
to pay
from the shadows the eclectic ramblings
comes the knowledge
that I should have seen
coming
I can’t believe don’t want to believe that I was this blind
dig a long ditch where the sewage of hate
lies
racism
misogyny
colorism
can freely flow
rants are good they flush out the mud the shifting sand
clogging

The sewers that run through your soul
I see it now whose fault it is who I should blame
For all the troubles troubling the troublemakers
The despair they must feel
The anger they must corral
The truth they must hold back
back to back to back to back
before they explode a gun a knife a wagging tongue
an exploding keyboard there is so much that must be said before
they take over redefine who what the
United States of America and the real Americans really are

am I an American
I was born here
are you an American
where are you from
you should help me understand
who they really are
what do they want
why do they want it
how will they take it back
from them
and we all know who them is
thank your god that you are in the fight
protecting the nation the culture the hisStory

protected propagated procreated proliferated
ensuring that your
in spite of all this
the truth will live forever.
